Postdoctoral Researcher, Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases, Center for Systems Biomedicine

I have joined the Center for Gastrointestinal Systems Biology, Division of Digestive Diseases at UCLA as a Postdoctoral Fellow. I focus my research on the advance understanding of mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis of cancers of the gastrointestinal track. Dissecting the epigenetic basis of pancreatic cancer will offer insights in its pathogenesis. By utilizing in vitro genetically modified cell lines coupled with innovative technology including high-throughput approaches, I was able to identify epigenetic molecules that are specifically deregulated in pancreatic cancer and started exploring novel pathways leading to pancreatic oncogenesis. My overall goal is to identify novel genomic/epigenomic mechanisms which will hopefully lead to the discovery of disease-specific biomarkers and therapeutic targets for clinical testing.
