Haofeng Ji, MD

Assistant Researcher, Department of Surgery, Liver and Pancreas Transplantation, David Geffen Department of Medicine at UCLA

Dr. Ji studies the mechanisms involved in IR-induced inflammation and to provide much needed novel therapeutic approaches in transplant recipients. His research focuses on three major areas: (1) investigation of regulation on innate immunity in the mechanism of hepatic IR injury (TIM-3: Hepatology 2014, Am J Transplant 2014 ); (2) therapies by neuropeptide/hormone (PACAP: Hepatology 2012, VIP: Liver Transpl 2013), antibody (Anti-TIM-1: Hepatology 2010, Am J Transplant 2012), and fusion protein (B7-H1Ig: Hepatology 2010); and (3) followed signal pathways: STAT3-PI3K/PTEN/β-catenin/Foxo1 axis (Hepatology 2012, J Hepatol 2012), cAMP-PKA (Liver Transpl 2012), and IFNAR/HO-1 (Am J Transpl 2012, J Hepatol 2013) in transplant recipients. Dr. Ji has been awarded the CURE Pilot and Feability award, in collaboration with CTSI.
