Alexander Hoffman, PhD

Professor of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG)
Director of the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio)

Alexander Hoffmann is the Thomas M Asher Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at UCLA, and the founding director of the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio). The Hoffmann lab focuses on developing a predictive understanding of the cellular responses to pathogens and cytokines. Quantitative experimentation is iteratively coupled with computational modeling to derive insights and develop hypotheses. The Hoffmann lab models of the immune and inflammatory response have provided key insights on how these complex regulatory networks function.
